New York Renaisance Fair

Last Sunday I took the chn to a renaisance fair near Tuxedo, about 45 minutes away although stella brought me back over the George Washington Bridge, darn her, and the extra trafic and distance took me an extra 20 minutes.

The fair was pretty good, lots of vendors selling over priced stuff, but fun to look at especially the period clothing, armour and leather goods.

My Boys found a rock! No suprises there.

They were impressed with the chain mail suits.

J loved the chain mail hair accessories, but where would you get the chance to wear them, apart from the fair next year?

I had a few minutes temporary respite whilst the children spent the time in the stocks.

We watched a Birds of prey display that was very impressive. The fellow had a Red Tailed Hawk, Perigrin Falcon, a Black Vulture and an Andean Condor (the BIG one) and they flew around and above us, flying back to him and to and from their enclosures.

W met a woman who gave the "kind sir" a nut of some kind which is good luck and which he should keep in his pocket...now where on earth has that nut got to.

We listened to some musicians.

And,watched a tournament.
