Visitors Part One

We have had an awesome time with our visitors from Adelaide, here are some of the things we have been doing. There are more to come, perhaps tomorrow, although my blogging has been less than timely lately so, don't hold your breath.

We took the ferry to Liberty Island, our first attempt had been rained out, they cancelled the boats becasue it was too rough. This day turned out to be lovely, a little chilly when the wind blew but very sunny and calm on the water. We had a very nice time and after the trip M met a friend who curled around him for a cuddle.

Some views from the ferry of, NYC (the southern tip of Manhattan) and of the Statue that we had come to see.

We spent about 30 minutes here in battery park between walks and ferries, the children got to run around and have a snack, always good. The grown ups had a hot drink which was unfortunately not hot.

After collecting our ferry tickets, we had some time to kill and Le works in Finance, so we walked a few blocks North to Wall street and paid a visit to the NY Stock Exchange. Since 9/11 they no longer allow tours of the stock exchange, but we could look at the outside and the children and I had a chat to some well armed police officers. M4 machine guns AND pistols and dressed in black. They were leaning against a builing and looked inconspicuous, they were very friendly to us and talked to W about their weapons...no photo of them though.

Some pictures of Central park, the zoo, the boys in a carraige and children in a clam shell at the Museum of Natural History.

We went into the city to see Boeing Boeing, a very funny play about an architect living in Paris with three fiance's. All three are hosties for different airlines and he keeps a book of their flight schedules so he can keep track of them. If it comes to Australia, I recommend it for a good laugh.

We also went to dinner at The View restaurant at the Mariot Marquis (our fail safe dinner with guests when going to a play). It is too expensive but a very nice experience and right on Broadway.

This is all 9 of us at a Park in Irvington (on the Hudson a little North of here), it is one of our favourite picnic spots and we can fly the kite, which the boys did on this day.

A few last beers for L and D.

The chn together for the first time, dinner on the night they arrived.

L and L, they share a name and both are very cute.
