Mystic

the 5 of us took a drive to Mystic in Conecticut, it is about 2 hours away. The excuse was for us to collect a power washer that D had bought on Ebay, this saved us $60- in postage fees, which we probably spent on petrol and entry to the Sea Port, but it was so worth it.

The weather was very nice (still a little on the cool side, but sunny). Mystic is a Sea Side town and features a wonderful colonial village/port town. We toured the last wooden whaler in the world, still has some of its original whaling tools, and a Wooden schooner.

They also have a planetarium where we were given a sneak preview of that nights night sky and a brief explanation into navigating by the stars, very interesting. Unfortunately, although all enthused to get out the telescope that night to see it in the flesh, it was cloudy and we have not been inspired since.

The children cast their rods into the Mystic River, but no fish for lunch, instead a hotdog on the Barbie.
