North Carolina

After our visit to Williamsburg we drove a little further down South to see our friend D. We lived next door to D in Fort Polk when we were in Louisiana and she came to visit us in 2004 while D was in East Timor. We have managed to stay in touch and finally we got down to see her. She has a lovely home in Pinehurst North Carolina and plays loads of golf - which she introduced to the children.

We had a very nice few days with her and would like to get back there again.

D took us for a ride on the Lake on a pontoon boat belonging to her friends. The water temp was perfect and wearing life jackets and using a rope we were pulled along behind the boat for a while. The chn loved this and it was fun for us too, though the next day I was wondering why my sides were sore...funny the muscles you use doing odd things.

Then, after returning the boat safely to its dock, we drove around to the beach. It was very pleasant laying in the shade, cooling off in the water and watching the chn make friends...M wanted his new friend Chloe to come home with us...Mummy, can we keep her? We chose to put her back in the water.

This is Sydney, D bought him just after her return from Australia in 2004, he is of course named for the beautiful City of Sydney/

The children and D's son Mr T! who bless him with the blessing of a thousand God's took our children to see the Transformer Movie the first day it was out. D, D and I went into pinehurst for a walk about and a lovely casual lunch. Very grown up. The children and Mr T had a wonderful time as well, so all good all round.

The boys playing with their Revolutionary war set obtained in Williamsburg. D usually lost because thats just what happens when one plays war with W's rules.
