Holiday Activities

We went to the botanical Gardens for the Holliday Train Show, this is an annual event, they have a display of New York land marks made entirely of plant material. All of the bridges were represented as well as some of the mansions along the Hudson River a little north of us. These events in America are usually really well done and well worth a visit. We were not disapointed and although it was really cold and we had to line up to get inside (they have timed entry and our entry was between 3.30 and 3.45 but we still had to line with all the others entering at this time) the display lived up to expectations. The children really enjoyed it, particularly the boys who were delighted with the different trains. It was really nice afternoon. I hope to take the children again before Christmas during the week when it will not be so busy.

We stopped by the children's discovery centre on the way to the Train Display, the children gound some spices and made a spice sachet to scent their rooms.

This is what we came for - The Trains.
