I took this photo just before we started shovelling the drive way about 11.30 - we deicded to wait until this time to see how much more would fall, it snowed whilst we were shovelling and for much of the day but fortunately it did not accumulate any more on the drive and we did not have to do it again. We could not have driven out of our driveway had we not shovelled and the next morning we were leaving for our week skiing in Vermont so we did not have time for any of it to melt. This is the first time this year that we wished we had a contract with a plow....but we managed to get it all cleared.
This is our road, wehave never seen it white before, usually the sno fall ius light enough that the traffic keeps it off the road, or the plows do, this time there was very little traffic (due to the snow) and the plows could not keep up with the snow fall either, so for a few hours we had a white road.

Power Lines...we heard tree branches cracking and kept our fingers crossed that none would fall on the power lines. Two families I know who live a little north of here lost power for about 4 days due to falling trees.

here are the front steps, I have never seen them so deep in snow, and I already shovelled 6 inches from them the night before!!

They are starting to emerge.

The view from our kitchen window including Aussie falgs and science bits and pieces, and of course the lovely tree which in spring holds the birds that come to the feeder.
