9th Birthday

Our little man turned 9 and was delighted to do so, cos that meant another load of presents and a party. He has grown up so much over the last 2 years, the difference in him compared to the 6 1/2 year old boy who arrived in NY is impressive. We are so proud of him, he is a sweet man, a lovely friend and a fabulous big brother. Even without my rose coloured glasses on (just take them of for a minute...ah yes, there he is) he is lovely. Today he and M played soccer at the Cloisters park on Manhattan, he did such a great job and managed to kick his teams first goal. I love to watch them run around together and play beautifully with the other children and see scuffles and troubles between some of them and sigh and say...that's not my boys.

W had a camping weekend for his birthday party. A few dad's and their boys joined D and M and W for a night at Croton Point Park - on the Hudson. They had a great time, there were 8 boys and 5 dads, they cooked their dinner on the fire, played and played and played for hours and even got some sleep. The Dad's had a couple (or three) beers and loved it so much we plan on doing it again next year.

Cake! I did not make this one, W asked for a cheesecake (first choice was an icecream cake - a little tricky when camping) I chose to buy one, already sliced and everything.

Friends.

A bit of hatchet action.

Sleeping bags - somehow just don't stay where they are supposed to.

My beautiful boys.
