And, this is just the first half of the catskill camping blog. Here we all are taking a stroll around Lake Minewaska. It was a lovely day - though not warm enough to swim as we had hoped.

More views around our camp site.

The tents. We bought a second one, same as the first one - you know - when on to a good thing and all that. The second one was for TJL&R.

All settled in.

Our camping princes. We bought new sleeping bags for everyone so that we'd all be snug in our tents.

I am attempting to cut through a branch using nothing but an Axe!

Princess J in her sleeping bag.

Some views of the woods around our camp site. It was very pleasant, given it was almost the last weekend of the season - and after children had returned to school we had the entire tent area to ourselves.

J cooked us breakfast - sunday pancakes are a family tradition actually dating back some years, even when camping.

Our raging fire.

We ordered pizza on the first night becasue we got in quite late and by the time we put up tents and made beds it seemed the easiest thing to do. It was HUGE of course, and yummy.

The road through the campsite.

Of course such a fire needs much wood and the fellows set too diligently collecing branches and such and stumbled on the motherload of nicely cut logs.

W was the one who actually started the branch chopping thing. He was incredibly dedicated to breaking through and inspired the rest of us to have a go too.

R having a go at his branch.

J also got into the act of chopping through a branch with an Axe...
