KOA Camping

After our boat tour we headed to our accommodations for the night. We chose a KOA camp ground becasue it was the closest and cheapest to Rockport. KOA are pretty good with nice clean facilities and Kabins (yep spelled with a K). We had to take our own bedding but it was great to not have to put up a tent for one night, and we could have a fire - which is alittle tricky in a hotel.

We made smores of course - family camping tradition, well it is now. The children ran around alot, played in the play ground and around a small pond. T and D spent some time at the local general store arguing about what food to buy for dinner. They did choose a bunch of corn on the cob which we roasted on the fire in its leaves and it was in W's words "To die for", he made sure to tell every person he met for the next month all about the "To die for corn" that we cooked on the camp fire.

The boys spent quite some time playing with glow stick swords - of course and we all had a very merry and relaxing tme.

You have probably all seen this before, but it is new to us so I thought I'd share it. Pop corn in a foil tray with a foil top. You cook it over a fire (but I burnt the first one beause of course the fire was pretty hot so Foug used the BBQ) and it pops up...well you can see the results. For the children this is a great treat and how fun to have popcorn with no microwave in sight.
