The children all had a wonderful time and participated in 'sand art' - filling a small plastic Jack O' Lantern shaped bottle with different colour sand, were tatooed and face painted, helped to carve the pumpkin and build the scarecrow, had fun listening to the music, petted the ferret, chinchilla, guinea pig, snake and Python in the petting zoo, tasted freshly crushed apple cider and had a hay ride. The weather was magnificent and was perhaps the last nice day of the year. It has rained for two days and we are hoping to go back to the Nature Centre again tomorrow for the 'Scare Crow and Pumpkin Parade' and more fall fun. We are also hoping that the rain is well over by HAlloween - next Wednesday night - for trick and treating.
The first photo is of D and C at the end of the day, so it should be at the end of the photos but there you go! This was perhaps not the last drink of the evening but the last variety of drink. They were both a little worse for wear the following morning but had a great time doing the drinking.
Oh, I should add that we have learned somethign about the decomposition of pumpkins - once carved they rarely last a week and ours are this evening a mushy, flat and furry (mold) mess on the front step...hehehe, it is raining still so they will have to stay there until tomorrow, lets hope the rain stops so that we can remove them before they decide to up and leve all by themselves.
