School Medicals

I promised I would summarise the school medical experience. So here we go. We made an appointment for Boxing Day - which is not cellebrated here, so every one every where is working. We had heard some horror stories about the medicals, that they were invasive and expensive. Turns out that both is true. We had been prepared for the invasive part and warned the children that they would have to take all of their clothes off and the doctor would look at their private parts. It was a bit tricky trying to explain why, since we still have no idea why the doctor needs to see inside their undies to determine wheather they are healthy enough to go to scholl and most importantly, do PE!. It seems there is still fascination with foreskin here. We had to have boosters for chicken pox but other wise the doctor was happy with the OZ immunisations. They also had to have blood tests, not sure what for, and urinanalysis too. I guess we know now that they are both healthy and though we are $622-00 poorer for the experience at least the children can participate in PE at school. We were at the surgery for over 2 1/2 hours, what fun.
