Children finish up at school

Well it is finally the end of the school year. Some how we managed to get to the last day alive, although the last two weeks seemed very long in deed. The children had lovely end of year celebrations in their class and these were an opportunity to ahve a look at some of the work they had completed.

W's class had an end of year Author Celebration. The children were put into small groups and read to their parents, there were 4 children in W's group so he was reading to 4 mum's and a couple of siblings. W did a great job and I was really proud of him, his writing has improved so much and I was so amazed at his confidence in standing up to read aloud. We did have a small hick-up when one of the girls in his group laughed at him but he quickly recovered and read on.

At J's class breakfsat the children displayed some of their major works. J had writen a book about Remembering Australia and one about Space. She had also completed this model of the UN building, as one of New York Cities important land marks. Admitedly she had help from Google Earth, the UN webiste Mummy (the flags!) and Daddy (a lot)!! It looks pretty good and the teacher was impressed with the result.
