Camping and Boscobel

We squished in a night of camping (rather than the 8 nights we had hoped for) in the middle of all of the other things we have going on and the other trips. Back to Fahnestock again - same field as last year. A few of the same folks too which was nice, but the one night was really not enough, at least we managed that much.

Me with K and B.

K&J's tent and ours in the background, in the same spot as last year.

Some freinds joined us of the afternoon, a swim in the lake, a bit of running around and then a hot dog on the fire dinner.

J, first thing Sunday morning, drawn immediately to the fire.

M, in the morning also drawn to the fire.

W, and his 'bad guys' being punished.....on fire! oh dear.

I went with a few others to Beudist Temple which was just up the road. They had a $5- vegitarian lunch happening which was quite tasty. To be really honest I was not so excited by the chanting, possibily becasuse I had no idea what it meant and it sounded all the same to me. I am sure for those doing it, it all made perfect sense.

On Sunday evening we attended a performance at Boscobel of the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. This year they played "Much Ado About Nothing". It is such a funny story. The chn and I had read the play in short story version and watched the Keneth Brannagh BBC film with Densel Washington, Keanu Reeves and Emma Thompson so they were familiar with the story. Both J and W loved it and laughed alot. I think M is still young enough to miss some of the dialogue and monologue so was a bit borded after an hour or so.

It was a lovely warm evening (perhaps a little warm under the tent) and we managed to fit in a brief picnic dinner on the lawns before the show. We will definately go again next year with all of the children.

The tent where the performance takes place, they also use the lawns in front of the tent and when The Prince and the men arrived they came up over the hill appearing a little at a time, it was very clever.

On the other side of the Hudson River is West Point, you can just make out the buildings in the trees.
